Family Mediators must be trained by a member organisation of the Family Mediation Council and we ask that all other professionals are members of their professional regulatory bodies and carry third party insurance.
We expect all those working in a firm/company to have staff welfare policies and support in place.

Commitment to your profession
Are you a member of Resolution or looking to join in the next six months?
Does your practice have staff welfare policies in place?
Do you have family law supervision with someone from The Association of Family Law Supervisors (AFLS) or similar?
Are you committed to more constructive solutions for your clients using services like: round table meetings, arbitration, mediation, hybrid-mediation, collaborative practice and similar?
Do you adhere to the 5 Ps as laid out in the Family Law Language Project?
Do you have links with other professionals and encourage a team-based approach, where appropriate, to reduce costs and stress for your clients?
Do you offer a fixed fee package for clients?
Training
Have you undertaken or enrolled on additional specialist training to enhance your skills in the last 24 months?
Have you undertaken or enrolled on the OnlyMums & Dads What About Henry training?
Have you received training in dealing with conflict?
Care for the wider environment
Do you undertake any related voluntary work or financially support local community organisations e.g. CAB, Support Through Court or domestic abuse charities?
Does your firm have carbon reduction targets? Is you firm or practice signed up to recognised schemes such as Planet Mark, Carbon Trust or B-Corp?
