I’m a former solicitor and now work with men and women leaving abusive relationships or marriages and going through the family court. Most of my clients are litigants in person as economic abuse is often one of the features of an abusive relationship, leaving a partner unable to afford legal advice or representation.
I also work with clients who do have a solicitor but need some additional expertise and strategy when leaving a narcissistic relationship.
I am the author of two books: A Better Way of Dealing with Divorce, for those who are able to have an amicable separation. And How to Divorce a Narcissist and succeed in the family court, for those who find themselves in the opposite situation and facing adversarial court proceedings.
My legal support covers most of the work a solicitor would do, but as litigants in person my clients have to sign and send themselves the letters and court documents I draft for them. I encourage them to do as much of the paperwork as they can themselves in order to keep their costs down.
My understanding of narcissistic personalities enables me to help parents to protect both themselves and their children as they go through the court process.
