Dr Glynis Wright MBE

Dr Glynis Wright MBE was one of Leicestershire’s most well regarded senior family lawyers for many years and founded her own highly successful family law firm Glynis Wright & Co Family Solicitors and Mediators. She sold the firm in 2020 and then left the profession altogether in March 2023 in order to retrain as a Certified Divorce Coach.

From her years of experience in the world of breakup she could see that legal advice is not enough – that the overwhelming and complex nature of the process individuals face can send them into an emotional tailspin where it is hard or nigh on impossible not to adopt a defensive stance and get into a fight.

It is Dr Glynis’ firm view that the first step in breakup should be to find a properly certified divorce coach rather than the traditional approach of securing a lawyer to “fight your corner.” Legal advice is very much needed but first and foremost an individual (or even better a couple) should be working with a divorce coach to get into the right mindset for achieving an amicable, no conflict divorce.

Dr Glynis launched The Alternative Divorce Company www.alternativedivorce.co.uk in April 2024 in order to provide not only divorce coaching to individuals and couples but also to give her clients access to the whole range of legal, financial and therapeutic services that they are likely to need at different stages in their breakup – all under one roof.

Dr Glynis offers face to face meetings at offices in the city centre of Leicester or alternatively Melton Mowbray. She can also offer zoom coaching for those outside of Leicestershire.
