Emma Taylor

I obtained my Law Degree from the University of Kent in 2006 and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive. I am a Partner based in the Hove branch of GoodLaw Solicitors although regularly undertake telephone or video appointments with clients all over the country or travel to our other offices in Brighton and Farnham.

I have worked in the family law field in Brighton & Hove for over fifteen years and am proud to have knowledge and connections with fellow local professionals. I predominantly specialise in children cases, to include those involving parental alienation and domestic abuse and modern families/same sex parents, along with Trust of Land Cases, which are cases involving financial property disputes between unmarried people.
In care proceedings, I represent parents, grandparents and joined parties and have a particular specialism in cases concerning Non-Accidental Injuries where there is complex medical evidence, fractures, genetic abnormalities and sexual abuse cases where there are virological issues.
I offer free initial consultations and the firm has a legal aid contract for those who meet the qualifying criteria.

I have a particular interest in cases involving international/jurisdictional aspects (to include both Hague and Non-Hague Abduction cases) and child welfare issues.  My objective is to achieve the best possible outcome for my clients, minimising conflict and running cases with a focus on the best interests of any relevant children.

I am an active member of Resolution, a mediator and a member of the Sussex Family Justice Board. I am also a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children and a contributor to and member of the familylawpanel.org.
