Emma Cordock

I am a Director and Joint Head of Family Department at AFG LAW.

As a Children Panel Accredited Solicitor Advocate my work includes helping clients with care proceedings, adoption, child arrangements, domestic abuse, divorce, finances and all other children matters.

As a High Court advocate, having gained the Higher Rights of Audience Certificate, I am able to represent clients and children in matters such as Deprivation of Liberty Orders and applications made under the Inherent Jurisdiction.

I am extremely passionate about making sure those clients who are unable to pay for legal services are represented fairly.  I run the family department at AFG LAW, support our growing team and deliver an excellent service for every client. My role also involves throwing myself into the community, forging strong relationships with local charities and businesses alike.

I am an active member of the Legal Aid Committee for Resolution and have co-presented workshops at the last two national resolution conferences.  For those clients who are no longer eligible for legal aid following the LASPO cuts in 2013, I reduced my fees to make access to support more affordable.

Pre-Covid we ran weekly family law drop-in clinics at our Bolton office and a monthly grandparent rights drop-in clinic in Bury. We now offer initial advice by phone at no cost to the client. Contact me for more information.
